The gold standard. Privacy is mandatory on every transaction, ring signatures, stealth addresses, RingCT, zero opt-in.

Delisted from Binance and Kraken, yet TRM Labs says network activity rose instead of falling. Darknet markets sit at ~48% Monero-only.

The EU ban by 2027 just hands it a scarcity narrative.

2. $ZEC - Zcash

The institutional privacy play. Grayscale filed the first-ever privacy coin spot ETF on it in May.

The SEC closed its review in January with no enforcement – about as clear a green light as this sector gets. Multicoin's been accumulating since

February on the wealth-tax thesis.
~30% of supply now sits in shielded pools, an all-time high.

3. $RAIL - Railgun

Privacy that actually prints revenue. It runs directly on Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Polygon for any ERC-20, you don't even need to hold the token to use it.

$5B+ in cumulative private volume, ~$4.7M annualized fees flowing straight to the DAO at zero cost of revenue.

No major CEX listing yet. That's the catalyst sitting in plain sight.

4. $AZTEC - Aztec Network

The first private ZK-rollup on Ethereum, and #1 L2 by developer activity on Santiment's GitHub rankings.

Programmable privacy across identity, state, and compute, all composable with public DeFi. The ZKPassport acquisition (130+ countries, no data stored) cracks open compliance and institutional use cases.

Backed by a16z, Paradigm, and ConsenSys. Token's only been live since February.

5. $ARX - Arcium

The encrypted compute layer everything above quietly leans on. Private perps, confidential tokens, encrypted AI inference, Arcium is the rail that makes them possible.

If RAIL ran multiples on privacy hype alone, the actual compute infrastructure has a far bigger addressable market.

Still pre-TGE with launch imminent. Highest risk, highest reward on the list.

6. $RLC - iExec

Confidential computing for DeFi and AI, powered by hardware TEEs (Intel SGX enclaves) where even the node operator can't see the data.

Sole TEE provider on Arbitrum since Sept 2025, with a Confidential Token for RWAs and private DeFi shipping at EthCC in July. Every private tx burns RLC.

A French, research-driven team that kept shipping through the bear while the rest memed. ~97% off ATH.

7. $SCRT - Secret Network

The OG programmable privacy L1. Private smart contracts by default on the Cosmos SDK, wired into the broader ecosystem through IBC.

SecretSwap, SilentSwap, and Secret Bridge are all live. At a ~$28M cap, it's priced like an afterthought relative to the tech.

A clean re-rating candidate if the privacy narrative runs.

8. $NIL - Nillion

Privacy compute for AI and data. It uses MPC and other PETs to run computation on information that never gets decrypted or exposed.

Migrated to an Ethereum L2 in early 2026. Node operators must stake 70,000 NIL each, quietly squeezing supply.

Down ~93% from ATH at a ~$30M cap, the discount a16z's "confidentiality as infrastructure" thesis is built to reward.

9. $ROSE - Oasis Network

Confidential smart contracts on an EVM-compatible chain, a genuinely rare combo. Its Sapphire ParaTime gives builders a confidential EVM.

That's exactly what institutional DeFi and RWAs need, where data privacy isn't a feature but a requirement. Grayscale flagged it as a notable privacy asset for 2026.

10. $FIRO - Firo

The purist's pick. Lelantus Spark delivers confidential amounts and private transfers with no trusted setup — a real cryptographic edge over Zcash's original ceremony.

Optional view keys keep it auditable for compliance. At a ~$17M cap, it's a tiny, asymmetric bet on privacy fundamentals.
