Currently we have bearish engulfing daily candles on the leaders (closure still over 16 hours away)... $ZEC $VVV $HYPE $NEAR. Altcoin decoupling / decorrelation may be over for the time being, lets see how this progresses. $BTC dominance back above 58%, but alts are dumping very hard right now across the board (which aligns with previous bear market consistency).

ZEC is one of the few truly asymmetric bets in crypto right now. The way I see it: BTC is still a top asset to hold long term, but there are a few things holding it back in this cycle: -Quantum FUD -Lack of privacy -Saylor owning a massive amount of BTC -The Satoshi black swan (what happens if Satoshi sell all his coin?) -Heavy MM / institutional market structure (Jane Street and you name it) -A few OG whales who sold big amounts of BTC Because of that, BTC hasn’t really followed tech stocks or gold during their respective bull runs. It got crushed instead. ZEC is interesting because it solves some of the exact concerns people have around BTC: -Quantum-resistant -Private (while still compliant) -Same hard-money / SoV properties as BTC -Lindy-proof (very important criteria for SoV) -No Saylor overhang -Established enough to matter, but still early enough to be asymmetric And on top of that, price action looks very strong both in USD and BTC terms. After a long consolidation, ZEC is printing higher highs against BTC and is now close to its ATH. The road ahead will be very volatile, but I think the direction is up and to the right. Although to be clear: I don’t think BTC is dying at all. BTC is still king and will probably come back stronger after this bear market. I just think ZEC might be the faster horse to hold right now, assuming you can stomach the volatility.

According to reports from Cointelegraph, and others, an independent researcher found a critical soundness bug in Zcash’s $ZEC Orchard zero-knowledge circuit that could have allowed invalid state transitions and potential double spending inside the Orchard pool. ZODL and the Zcash Foundation coordinated an emergency response: Zebra4.5.3 activated a soft fork that rejected Orchard actions, while Zebra5.0.0 activated the NU6.2 upgrade at block height around3,364,600 to restore Orchard with a new verifying key. Throughout the incident, Sapling and transparent transactions continued to function, turnstile checks showed no unauthorized value creation, and multiple statements said user privacy and total ZEC supply were unaffected. Next, watch for full adoption of Zebra5.0.0 / NU6.2 by node operators, any additional technical disclosure from the Zcash Foundation, and updates for other projects reusing Orchard code to ensure the patched circuit is consistently deployed across the wider ecosystem.
