We are still in a beartrend, but here’s how you can spot the start of the next bull market.

There are many clear similarities with the previous cycle. We are not looking for an exact repeat. Just using historical patterns to better understand what’s happening now.

1. Weekly 50 EMA
The clearest and most reliable indicator on the chart is the 50 week EMA (the average price of the last 50 weekly candles). It reliably separates higher-timeframe bull trends from bear trends. Simply following this single indicator would have delivered a 300% return from March 15, 2023, to November 13, 2025.

2. Basic Market structure
During that earlier period, Bitcoin consistently formed higher lows and higher highs. The classic definition of a bull trend. Since it lost the 50 week EMA, the structure has reversed. We now see lower highs and lower lows, confirming a bear trend. This bearish structure remains intact on both higher and lower timeframes.
