    tldr: @monad would need ~50x its current network activity to reach neutral emissions Monad has 2% annual inflation on its 100B supply: 2B $MON minted per year through block rewards (25 MON/block). It offsets this with a deflationary burn: every transaction's base fee is permanently destroyed (validators keep only the priority fee). Here's where actual inflation stands today (source @Blockworks) – Gross issuance: ~5.2M MON/day – Daily burn: ~100–130k MON/day (127.5k on 31 May) So burn currently offsets only ~2% of issuance. To reach neutral emissions, burn has to go from ~2% of issuance to 100%, roughly 50x. For context: Monad is running ~24 TPS and ~10 MGas/s today. A 50x gets you to 1,200 TPS and 500 MGas/s. Based on docs, 500 MGas/s is Monad's stated gas ceiling. Neutral emissions would require running the chain at maximum capacity, continuously. This is very theoritical because the 50x assumes a constant base fee. As activity approaches the gas limit, EIP-1559-style base fees rise, so each unit of gas burns more MON. That could pull neutral somewhat closer than a literal 50x, but higher fees also suppress demand for blockspace, so it's hard to predict with accuracy here. Current net inflation: 1.9% (fixed issuance 2B Monad/per year − current burn)
