Mastercard has formally unveiled a new settlement framework that adds intraday, weekend and holiday settlement, including on-chain card settlement with regulated stablecoins on multiple blockchains.
If Sei Network links into this framework, it would position Sei as potential infrastructure for card and cross-border payments, which could drive liquidity and developer interest over time.
The key things to watch are official confirmations naming Sei, which stablecoins and chains go into production, and how regulators treat these always‑on settlement rails.
