"Users should own their data. Not Facebook. Not OpenAI. You." Adeniyi Abiodun (@SuiNetwork), co-founder, ex-Meta Libra) explains why decentralization is the antidote to the surveillance economy and how SUI Stack makes it possible. As employee #8 at Meta and architect of Libra, Adeniyi watched firsthand how centralization breeds corruption. He's here to explain why the future belongs to users who own their data. The lines that stuck with us: "Decentralization is not just an antidote to centralization. It's an antidote to existing business models." "In the future, the data you generate is data you own. How you choose to monetize that data will be your choice. You'll be a central controller of your own destiny online." "SUI Stack lets you store data, encrypt data, share data, monetize data, without trusting a centralized body to do that." "Just because it's decentralized doesn't mean it's not private. Cryptography wins us all. You don't need to trust a company to keep your data secret. You trust math." "Visa taps out at 50,000 transactions per second. Our decentralized infrastructure has no maximum throughput." One uncomfortable truth about data ownership. Four pieces of infrastructure reality nobody on Wall Street is building. We cover: - Why data ownership matters more than you think - How SUI Stack orchestrates data, encryption, and monetization - Why centralized companies became evil by accident, not design - The quantum-safe encryption technologies protecting SUI - How agents will own and protect your data in the future - Why moving money on the internet is finally the goal (not NFTs or meme coins) - The real difference between decentralized and private - Why regulation is finally creating guardrails for crypto Thanks to @EmanAbio for coming on @new_era_finance. @Mysten_Labs

I sat down with the co-founder of SUI (@EmanAbio), the man who built Facebook's payment infrastructure before Congress shut Libra down. He left Meta. Built his own blockchain. And now he's making payments free. "Most agentic payments you see are all botted, it's all fake. It's not real transactions. The real agentic payments aren't happening yet. Visa taps out at 50,000 transactions per second. Our infrastructure is 300,000. You double the hardware, you double the throughput." He thinks SUI will be a top 3 cryptocurrency. Here's why. Not looking good for SUI. If there only was a blockchain that has 100% uptime and never went down...

Three major outages in the last few days, and Sui's not looking particularly good here. People are comparing to Solana's early problems but they were largely capacity issues, whereas Sui is breaking at the consensus layer. These are much more serious problems. Furthermore, the 1.72 update that caused these problems passed through testnet without this fatal bug being caught. Two issues I see are the overall fragility of the network design where all validators are required to run the exact same software version, so a single bug will simultaneously take out the entire network, and second, the gap in quality assurance that allowed this edge case to reach production in the first place. Not a good look.

Sui Network Down 3 Times in 48 Hours: What Really Happened @SuiNetwork just suffered Three Mainnet Halts in under 48 Hours (May 28 to 30). Here is what you need to know. What Caused It: The v1.72 upgrade introduced a new "Address Balances" feature. It clashed with the network's gas charging logic. The conflict surfaced during an Epoch Transition and froze block production. The Good News 🔹 No User Funds Were Lost 🔹 Validators Deployed Fixes by May 30 🔹 Network Activity Has Resumed Price Impact 🔹 $SUI Broke Below $0.89 (Near This Cycle Low) 🔹 Down Roughly 37% In Just 20 Days 🔹 ~$2M in Long Positions Liquidated This is Sui's Second Major Outage of 2026. Both traced back to bugs from software upgrades. The tech recovers fast, but repeated downtime tests trust in a chain built for high speed finance.

Sui went down three times in 48 hours this week. I'm not going to pretend that's nothing. But here's what the bears aren't saying : No funds lost Validators coordinated full recovery every time And the network hit a 2026 TPS high of 1,539 the same week. A gas bug is a software problem. Software problems get patched. Shit happens. What a team does next matters more.

Although the Sui network experienced three outages, there were no fund losses; the team recovered quickly and achieved high TPS, and the issue can be fixed.

I'm one of the people most directly responsible for this outage. I take Sui outages extremely personally and am incredibly disappointed that this happened. I'll echo what @EvanWeb3 said: Moving fast is no excuse for outages. This outage was caused primarily by an edge case in gas smashing introduced by address balances. However, we did not ship this feature carelessly. We spent over 6 months testing address balances and tried as hard as we could to exercise every edge case and combination of features we could think of. Unfortunately, we were bitten by an edge case that we did not discover during testing. Again, this is not an excuse - it shows that our testing strategy was inadequate, despite how much effort we put into it. We did not have a systematic way to enumerate or discover all possible edge cases. We will be re-examining our approach in light of this. But I do want to emphasize that we did not ship this feature carelessly or in a rush. We made mistakes, but we were absolutely not operating in "move
