Glad to have moderated a session at Southeast Asia Blockchain Week @SEABWofficial on: What Institutions Need Before They Trust Digital Assets: Tokenisation, Custody, Control, and Cross Border Confidence Had a great conversation with Rashu Jindel from @talostrading , Marco Cora from @zksync Foundation, Daniel Lee MBA LL.M CFtP from @CactusCustody and Aldwin Andikko from @BitGo on custody, institutional trust, tokenisation, and what still needs to be built before digital assets can scale with institutions. Funny enough, our session happened right after the TripleS concert. First, I was not sure if people were ready to go from concert mode straight into serious institutional digital assets mode. But I was really happy to see the audience stay engaged throughout the discussion. Big thank you to SEABW for the opportunity.

Many people in crypto want “everything should be transparent onchain.” It sounds idealistic, but once you get to the level of banks, custodians, fintechs, or real financial institutions, the problem changes. They cannot possibly store all sensitive data on a public ledger. Imagine data such as: - counterparty transactions - internal balance - fund flow - liquidity position - transactions between business units - customer/partner data If all that were opened to the public, it would be more than “transparency” – it would be full exposure, which could become a compliance risk, a business risk, even a security risk. This is often missed in crypto conversations. We too often assume transparency = everyone must be able to see everything. In fact, for institutions, the important thing is not to publish all raw data to the internet, but to be able to prove that the process and results are valid. Here, Prividium from @zksync is interesting. Its approach is not just a “closed private chain,” but more like: Sensitive data stays within their own enterprise infrastructure, while the correctness of transactions and their outcomes can be proven using ZK proofs. Thus the raw data doesn’t need to leave, but the results can still be verified.

I'll probably vote YES. Prividium needs funding, and more circulating supply is healthier than keeping a massive overhang locked up. That said, ZKsync raised $250M+ from VCs, so using fresh $ZK emissions to fund operations isn't exactly ideal. Short term, this isn't particularly bullish for $ZK.

More developers are building where AI agents and ZK meet. @jet_halo hosted a zkVerify workshop at MuShanghai ( @themu_xyz), walking builders through zkApp development and a live Verifiable PnL demo. The takeaway is simple: • AI agents need proof • Trading needs privacy • zkVerify gives builders the verification layer to make it real

There's a new proposal from @the_matter_labs on the ZKsync governance forum. They're proposing to allocate 67M $ZK per month (~$1M/month) to fund the Prividium roadmap throughout 2026. That's 804M $ZK per year, roughly 8% of the circulating supply or ~3.8% of the total supply. That's a pretty significant allocation. The discussion is currently taking place on the governance forum 👀.
